Decorative Art

Glass art can be beautiful and functional, or purely for our visual enjoyment. The potential of the medium is almost unlimited: I love experimenting with new ideas, and trying to bring something different to the finished piece.

 • Glass Vase:

Colour is a tool, as much as it is the art of what a glassblower does. By taking colour and allowing it to mix while the glass is still molten, the colours merge and flow - bringing out new shades and forms over the surface of the piece. If you so desire you can request an item made with almost any colours you wish, in the varying amounts you request.
 • Glass Vase:

Another example of a hand blown vase. Each vase is utterly unique, the colour being added to the molten glass and then being hand formed into the final product. No molds are involved, just molten glass, colour, and time..
 • Glass Vase Top:

A view of the top of the vase type from the previous picture. To keep the piece from drooping during the glassblowing process it must be continually spun, which exerts equal pressure on the piece allowing it to keep the form you desire.
 • Colour Topped Wine Stoppers:

Colour swirls through liquid glass - pulled, stretched and sculpted before being fitted atop a wine stopper.

While I always have a large selection of wine stoppers on hand, it is possible to select the colours used to match it precisely to the favourite colours of yourself or the recipient thus making it a unique, customized gift.

 • Flower Topped Wine Stoppers:

Sculpted glass flowers fitted to a wine stopper base - a unique, functional gift for those you care about, or a special treat for yourself.
 • Glass Angel - Large with 23k Gold Leaf Halo:

Angels can represent faith, a missed love one, a guardian angel to watch over those we care about or a simple reminder of the beauty in this world... and beyond.

Height: Approx 12cm
Across the Wings: Approx 8.5cm
Depth: Approx 5cm
Weight: Approx 472g.

Please note: as each piece begins its life as molten glass and is blown/sculpted by hand into the final product, individual pieces might have slight variations in size and/or appearance. Please rest assured however that the standard of quality is quite high, and no substandard pieces will be sold.

 • Small Glass Angel:

Glassblowers and angels have a history about them, it seems we all make them and we all have our own design. This is one of mine: the smallest freestanding one.

Height: Approx 7.5cm
Across the Wings: Approx 6cm
Depth: Approx 3.5cm
Weight: Approx 134g.

Please note: as each piece begins its life as molten glass and is blown/sculpted by hand into the final product, individual pieces might have slight variations in size and/or appearance. Please rest assured however that the standard of quality is quite high, and no substandard pieces will be sold.

 • Glass Bees:

Adding a little Spring flair to wherever you need it, these hand blown glass bees would be right at home amongst your flowers, hanging from a tree, or as a hanging warning sign to bears: stay away from my honey!

 • Glass Flower:

A single flower, made to catch the light and diffuse it through its petals. Never wilting, never thirsting, this flower is a symbol of beauty: a brief moment captured, frozen, held for eternity.
 • Pink Ribbons and Gold:

Ribbons of pink dance and flow as a thin veil of 23 karat gold drifts downward from the top of this solid glass piece. Irregularly cut and polished along one side to give it a bold yet delicate asymmetric appearance, this piece catches light from all angles and shows a different face to each observer.

 • Encapsulated Fountain:

Hand sculpted in three dimensions within a block of polished glass, this fountain of water is frozen forever in a moment of upward motion. This piece reacts spectacularly to different light sources.
 • Glass Raindrops:

Raindrops of colour, which will always remain falling where you want it most.

Large:

Widest Point: 6.5cm
Height: 12cm
Weight: Approx 685g.

Medium

Widest Point: Approx 5cm
Height: Approx 10cm
Weight: Approx 420g.

 • Magma Ball:

Simple lighting (in this case being placed beneath a small pot light) brings out a very dramatic inner beauty to many pieces of glass. This piece, designed around the concept of flowing lava, is designed from the ground up as a piece that looks different depending on its environment.
 • Glass Bowls:

Large, medium or small - or made to your measurements to match your space. I make these bowls in a variety of styles and colouration patterns, and so invite you down to the shop to see on hand examples, or to sit down together and design one that's perfectly "you".
 • Shallow Glass Bowl:

Sweeping thin bands of colour encircle this bowl, creating a bold yet peaceful effect. The colours within each bowl are customizable to your desire, though I do always have a few ready made bowls on hand as well.
 • Opaque "Misty" Bowl:

In this style of bowl the goal is flowing, gaslike mixtures of colours across the outer surface. While there may be spaces of translucent colour, the piece is generally opaque and provides a different view from each angle around the bowl.
 • The "What If..." Bowl:

Sometimes in the course of my day in the hot shop there'll be a moment - found in the movement of the glass, the mixing of colours - that'll make me pause and think: "what if..." and suddenly I'll be following that train of thought and working on a brand new piece, one I've never made before, one I'm not quite sure how it'll turn out.

Some of these pieces are worthwhile, others teach me a lesson in humility. Sometimes a piece will be unique enough that I'll tentatively put it in my gallery, nervous as to the reaction... but curious, as well. Sometimes it'll stay there, as I grow accustomed to the piece and find I'm rather proud of it. Other times it'll find a place in the back room to gather dust as a lesson in technique.

This bowl is an example of one such piece. Coloured so that the interior has classic, early 20th century tones, while the exterior bursts in deep rich colour, it's a piece that belongs to two eras, and one which will hold a place of uniqueness in my gallery - until the next time I see something unexpected in the glass.
 • Narrow Glass Vase:

Both colour and form draw the eyes upward to the lip of the vase, or higher: to your favourite flowers, a pinwheel, or anything else you can see in your mind's eye.
