Glass Rocks:<br /> <br /> Without rocks, there would be no glass: the silica used in glass production is the eroded remains of the rocks from the Earth's crust. We then take this silica, and with a little heat and work, turn it into the glass you see on this site and in your day to day life.<br /> <br /> I find rocks fascinating, and so I've tried to bring the process full circle: taking the silica formed from rocks of eons past, fusing it in the furnace and forming it into a new "rock" to enjoy as a decorative piece. Glass Rocks:

I find rocks fascinating, and so I've tried to bring the process full circle: taking the silica formed from rocks of eons past, fusing it in the furnace and forming it into a new "rock" to enjoy as a decorative piece. Each piece has a sanded bottom through which you can peer up through the transparent glass within to see the inside of the "rock".

  • "Gabby" Bowl: Thick glass shaped by hand and the downward pull of the Earth's gravity, finished by applying drops of molten glass to the sides as an extra, dramatic touch to these solid pieces. Currently at <a href="http://www.gallery329.com/" target="_blank">Gallery 329</a> (link opens in a new window) in Ridgeway, Ontario.
  • Glass Vase:<br /> <br /> Another example of a hand blown vase. Each vase is utterly unique, the colour being added to the molten glass and then being hand formed into the final product. No molds are involved, just molten glass, colour and time.
  • Pin Hole Vase:<br /> <br /> A simple splash of solid colour on a solid coloured base adorn this style of vase, with a much smaller than normal opening at the top to showcase a few, or even a single, flower.<br /> <br /> Base to top: Approx 13.5cm (5.3")<br /> Widest point: Approx 8.5cm (3.35")<br /> Opening: Approx 2cm (0.8")<br /> Weight: Approx 556g (1.25 lbs)
  • Glass Valve Shaped Vase:<br /> <br /> Another take on the form of the vase, with a large bowl shaped base rising to a smaller opening. Better suited to contain only a few flowers for a dramatic effect.

  • Glass Apple:<br /> <br /> It's been said that an apple a day keeps the doctor away, but did you know that a glass apple keeps TWO doctors away? Especially if you throw it at one of them.<br /> <br /> *Please don't throw my apples at people. They hurt, and doctors have feelings too.
  • Glass Leaves:<br /> <br /> Leaves change colour and fall, before sprouting anew to reach for the Sun's rays once more. A splash of colour for your table, as gifts for your friends, or scattered around the room just as nature scatters hers, the possibilities are endless.
  • Glass Paperweight:<br /> <br /> Clear glass covers a patterned core. The shape and pattern within each piece is absolutely unique, and customizable to your needs.
  • Peacock Eye Style Vase: A new style of vase/coloring I've been trying lately. The goal was a deep brown primary color so as to contrast with flowers - like that between rich earth and plants that grow from it. I added peacock eye style color blotches to the piece to give it some interest, and then a shape that would be sure to draw the eye. I'm rather happy with the results, and also have <a href="http://www.kellyloweglass.com/AvailablePieces/Bowls/19052519_fKMTLs#1481690605_8Nksvmv">a bowl</a> I made with the same design considerations, as part of the fun.   • Small Glass Bowl/Glass:<br /> <br /> A smaller touch of colour for wherever you need it, these pieces are generally made of a single colour each.
