Kritters

It's a sad fact in today's world that many Kritters go homeless: tragically walking the streets, rooting through the dumpsters of the finest linoleum manufacturers and dreaming of climbing telephone poles - a dream denied due to their universally stubby legs. Amusing? Yes. Adorable? Yes. Edible? No. But a lucky few find their way into the healing hands of Kelly of Kelly Lowe Glass. A little bit of TLC, a gift of their trademark top hat to keep their heads warm and to remind them that they're classy little Kritters and they're ready to search for their forever home. *NEW* - Kritters now available for adoption from my online store! Pengueluga:

Half penguin, half beluga whale, this young chap is made for the water. A first rate vegetarian spear fisherman, as well as the fanciest of solo synchronized swimmers, getting him out of the water is next to impossible - especially when it's time to take his bath!

 • Dustacean:

Half duck, half crustacean, Dustacean is the man about town. Believing himself to have the finest hat of all the Kritters, he's often seen tweaking Porkutort's tail with his pincers, teasing him about his "wee hat". They're friends though, and often water-ski together.

 • Dustacean's Baby Photos:

Plucked from the primordial Kritter goo and blown, sculpted and worked into something a little less... well, molten, this Dustacean is obviously happy to finally have feet. He's hot, and knows it, - in fact in this picture he's still at least a few hundred degrees celsius, hence the colouration... as he cools his body will take on a bright red hue while his hat will slowly darken to a solid black. His smile, however, will never waver.

 • Dustacean:

No longer an infant but still in need of daily care (he wanders into traffic if not watched carefully. Not car traffic, mind you, but wiffle bat swinging clown traffic is no place for a stubby legged encrustation bird to be!), he's ready for a home, and is mostly over his pinching problem. Now if only we could get him to eat his peas...

 • Globodelanta:

Half... ummm... hmm. Maybe ALL centipede. With metal legs. And a huge hat. We love him anyways, since he was the first of the Kritters, something which he reminds us of... ALL... THE... TIME.

 • Porkutort:

Ol' Porkutort herself: half porcupine, half tortoise. The second of the Kritters to spawn from the depths of the glass ovens, she's also the most timid. Why? Stubby legs. Not that anything eats porkutorts mind you, she's just self conscious.

 • Piggerpillar:

Half pig, half caterpillar, this little fellow dreams of someday becoming a 'beautiful' butterhog. Oh what a marvelous kritter he'll be, soaring through the air while gathering truffles for all the kritters to eat - he thinks. Little does he know that butterhogs don't do all that well at truffle hunting, preferring instead to wallow in dirty stormclouds and chimney smoke.

So be content, young Piggerpillar! Enjoy your terrestrial time, tromping through mall parking lots looking for shiny silver dollars to add to your collection! Because as many of us know, wishing away your youth is a fool's venture, and you ain't no fool.

 • Butterhog:

Half Pig, Half Butterfly, this majestic creature emerges from a cocoon spun by our pal the piggarpillar.

Play on, ye hundred fife men, for only your skilled song can capture the majesty of the winged pig as it emerges from its silken stocking to soar our northern skies! To stormclouds and dirty chimney smoke, if you would follow the majestic beast, and witness as it wallows amongst their greasy outage! How marvelous, how fine he... wait, what's this? The hundred fife men have stopped, their tune repeating, and from the sky swoops down the Butterhog whom they seranade? Is that the leader of the fife men, bowing, and handing forth his golden fife inherited from years of lore? The Butterhog... it raises the fife to it's mouth and...

*Absolutely rockin' fife solo!*

 • Octoceros:

Half octopus, half rhinoceros, Octoceros believes solidly in the importance of daily hygiene. Also, she believes in cats! She knows they exist, since she sees them all the time.

When she's not out spotting (and believing in) mundane everyday animals, Octoceros heads up the Kritter Zoological Performing Arts Center - the circus, in other words. A finer ringmaster you've never seen, welcoming one, welcoming all (except for Justin, he's banned) to a show that's sure to delight children of all ages. Adults too!
