Glass Angels (Small)

  • <p></p> <h1 style="margin:0px;"><font size="4"><b>Box of Four Hand Blown Christmas Ornaments:</b></font></h1> Perfect as a gift for your loved ones or as an indulgence for yourself and your tree, these bundles of four Christmas Balls are the the same ornaments I sell separately, only with a fancy box and bow. Each ball is hand blown from molten glass by yours truly, and are guaranteed to add something special to this year's decorations. These boxes can be individually made to your taste: if you'd like four pink ornaments, by all means we can do that, and that goes for any other colours I make as well. The box pictured here contains a random assortment of colours. Each box is labelled as containing only fully handmade blown glass pieces.   • <p></p> <h1 style="margin:0px;"><font size="4"><b>Traditional Hand Blown Christmas Ornaments</b></font></h1> Individually hand blown using the same methods glassblowers have used since antiquity, these ornaments are a holiday classic just like great great great great great grandma may have had. I make these Christmas balls in a variety of colours, (see the link below for more examples) including the multicoloured one pictured here. Each ornament begins life as liquid glass in a special glassblowing furnace, from which it's pulled and blown by mouth into a hollow sphere. During this process colour is added, which melts and is allowed to flow and combine throughout ornament, making each ball truly one of a kind: the color will never mix in the same way twice. While the piece is still hot a small glass loop is added to the top to make for easy hanging from a Christmas Tree or any other place one could wish to hang it, and finally it is slowly cooled over the course of 24 hours in a special glass kiln to ensure the glass is very strong and will last a lifetime.   • <p></p> <h1 style="margin:0px;"><font size="4"><b>Holiday Elf Head Ornaments</b></font></h1> Gathered with the utmost of care (the elves barely feel a thing, and you can't imagine how much higher they can jump without their ungainly noggins weighing them down) these elf heads are there to remind you of a simpler time, when elves banged together toys in Santa's workshop and sang all inclusive songs of festive cheer and joy. Also there was a duck there, but he's not important to this story.   • <p></p> <h1 style="margin:0px;"><font size="4"><b>Glass Icicle Ornament</b></font></h1> Some winters I look up at the rooftops and sigh: "not enough icicles!" I think. Then I come inside, and find no icicles. But I like icicles! How to solve this dilemma? Like most things in life this problem can be solved with glass, and hence, here I present hand sculpted glass icicles. Each piece has a polished clear bottom to allow peering eyes to see inside and verify that yes, it is in fact a piece of glass art and should not therefor be fed into steam engines as a source of power. Each piece has "A Lump Of Coal" hand engraved on the polished underside.   • <p></p> <h1 style="margin:0px;"><font size="4"><b>Hand Sculpted Glass Wine Stoppers</b></font></h1> Each wine stopper consists of a hand sculpted glass top filled with a variety of colorful shapes and designs securely attached to a food grade stainless steel base. These wine stoppers are fully functional pieces of art, and will last for years, even decades, of regular use. As I sculpt the pieces entirely by hand no two wine stoppers will ever be exactly alike - making them a beautiful and unique addition to your table, your wine collection, as a special gift for the wine lover in your life, or as a colorful addition to celebrations such New Year's Eve, birthdays or anniversaries. Each piece is discretely signed near the top of the base using a dremel: a diamond tipped engraving tool.   • <p></p> <h1 style="margin:0px;"><font size="4"><b>Aventurine Angel</b></font></h1> Ethereal bands of aventurine gold are spun beautifully within these hand sculpted solid glass angels, creating unique and individual pieces that interact with light in a way that is sure to dazzle and impress. Each piece responds to light differently, indeed each responds to different types of light differently, casting delicate colour onto the surfaces upon which they stand, or glowing softly from within, illuminating each individual band of colour and taking on the wisp-like flows visible in the photograph here. These pieces are the newest of my angel designs, and one I hold particularly dear. The gentle colours they cast throughout my showroom when the sun is just right and when I arrive each day reminds me how lucky I am to be doing what I do for a living, and inspires me each day to strive for my best.   • <p></p> <h1 style="margin:0px;"><font size="4"><b>Hanging Glass Angels</b></font></h1> What could you do if you were a hand sculpted hanging glass angel? What couldn't you do! You could be the champion of a Christmas Tree, for one, or hang in a window to catch all the sunlight (the solar ray kind, not the dishsoap kind) and just shine and twinkle the day away. You'd make a pretty nifty gift, and you'd be tasty on... well, nothing actually - you are made of solid glass after all. Also you'd be all full of hand sculpted goodness that makes you special, interesting, and better than those mass manufactured stuff. Oh that's right, you could look down your nose... or... front of your spherical head I guess, at those not handmade and say "blargh." And they'd know what that means, 'cause you're a great communicator.   • <p></p> <h1 style="margin:0px;"><font size="4"><b>Jack-o'-lantern Ornament</b></font></h1> A seasonal piece made for my October 2010 open house, these jack-o'-lanterns added a fun atmosphere to the studio and were a blast to make. So much fun in fact that I've decided to continue making them for future Halloweens, since what Halloween is complete without a blown glass jack-o'lantern? Only bad ones, I think.   • <p></p> <h1 style="margin:0px;"><font size="4"><b>Sculpted Glass Flowers</b></font></h1> These hand sculpted glass flowers come in a variety of colours (or can be custom made in the colour of your choice), and are fully handmade from start to finish - including the glass base. These pieces are extremely time consuming and difficult to create. The flower slowly takes shape as small bits of molten glass are brought from the furnace, attached to the piece, and then hand sculpted into the shape of a single petal. The end result is a single piece of glass sculpture in the shape of a flower: a unique, delicate looking piece of glass art that will never wilt, never needs watering, and will last a lifetime. <i>Measurements</i>: Height: Approx 8.5 cm (3.35") Width: Approx 10cm (3.93") Weight: Approx 444g (0.98 lbs) *Note: As each glass flower (each individual flower petal as well!), is hand sculpted some variation in size is to be expected.   • <p></p> <h1 style="margin:0px;"><font size="4"><b>Hanging Glass Bee</b></font></h1> A seasonal favourite, or a feared adversary, the bee can be either depending on the individual. But where would we be without them? Less flowers, no honey and 54% less buzzing in the world... would you REALLY want that? Some of these bees even come with crowns, showing off their royal status as queen bees. Stinger to Nose: Approx 9cm (3.54") Across the Wings: Approx 6cm (2.36") Weight: Approx 150g (0.33 lbs) *Note: As each piece is hand sculpted some variation in size is to be expected.   • <p></p> <h1 style="margin:0px;"><font size="4"><b>Glass Hearts</b></font></h1> These hand sculpted glass hearts make for a unique Valentine's Day gift, a special decoration or gift for weddings, or simply a sign of your affection on any of the other day of the year. The hearts are solid glass and feature swirls of colour and adventurine gold within the interior of each piece. The gold catches the light and makes each heart sparkle with a life of its own, while the colour of the interior swirls can be chosen to ensure that the heart you give (or choose for yourself!) is a proper reflection of you and/or its intended recipient. Customized engraving is available, and can be done at my studio using a diamond tipped engraving tool - the same tool I use to sign my work. This style of engraving is done in my handwriting, is offered free of charge, and as it takes only a moment is available on both custom pieces and those ready made and available for purchase from my studio gallery. Other styles of engraving can also be arranged: please feel free to inquire as to what options I have available. Each heart is utterly unique, containing flecks of 23 karat gold, colour, ribbons and more, and are infinitely customizable to mean more to you or the recipient.
